How secure is the NIH Toolbox app?

The NIH Toolbox iPad App is potentially the most secure form of assessment available. Data collection takes place on a device that is password protected with 256-bit key encryption
(see http://www.apple.com/ipad/business/it/ for additional details).

Apple's indepth security guide can be found here:  http://images.apple.com/business/docs/iOS_Security_Guide.pdf

If iCloud is enabled on your device, data exports may be synchronized to a folder in iCloud Drive.  See Apple's iCloud security and privacy overview here:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202303

Data exports (.csv format) and participant reports (.txt format) may be emailed from NIH Toolbox. Secured email systems must be used to protect privacy.

Under the Data Security section of the Settings screen, users may enable/disable data export options.
