Data Backup

Data collected using the NIH Toolbox app is automatically backed up as part of any regular backup built into the iPad. This includes:

Automatic backup to iCloud: 
This happens once a day automatically as long as your iPad is connected to wifi, plugged in and locked

Manual backup, using iCloud or iTunes:

NOTE: Before performing the Backup (in iCloud or iTunes), go to iPad settings -> iTunes & App Store and confirm that you are signed in with intended Apple ID

iCloud
On your iPad, go to

  -> iPad Settings 
  -> iCloud 
  -> Backup
  -> Click on "Backup now"

iTunes
Connect the iPad to your computer via cable.

On your computer, go to 
  -> iTunes 
  -> iPad Summary 
  -> Backups 
  -> Click on "Backup now" 
(to get iTunes menu bar on Windows PC press ALT on keyboard)


Restore from backup, using iCloud or iTunes:

After the iPad is restored, install the NIH Toolbox app from the App Store. 

When the NIH Toolbox app is launched, you will see data from the selected backup in the app.

iCloud
When prompted, select Restore from a Backup, and choose the latest backup.

iTunes
Connect the iPad to your computer via cable.
On your computer, go to
  -> iTunes 
  -> iPad Summary 
  -> Backups section 
  -> Click on "Restore Backup"
